We have three water banks in our college campus

1] 1 Cr Ltr. 2] 2.39 Cr. Ltr. 3] 3.5 Cr. Ltr. Total 6.89 Cr. Ltr. water is generally available in our water banks. It is useful to farm in the drought prone condition. Fishery unit can run in these water banks. We organize demonstration camps for farmers on effective water use.

Non-Conventional Energy Sources

Lokmangal college had installed solar water heating system at every Hostels. Solar water heaters -- also called solar domestic hot water systems -- can be a cost-effective way to generate hot water for our college.

We had installed solar street lights in our campus. Solar system is used in any climate and the fuel it use -- sunshine -- is free.

Floriculture

Flowers have acquired an unique position in our lives. Gerbera is a herb and its flowers are like daisy.

Tissue Culture Lab

Tissue culture is the growth of tissues or cells in an artificial medium separate from the parent organism. Keeping track of latest market trends, we are devotedly engaged in offering a wide assortment of Tissue Culture G9 Banana Plant. Institute has a tissue culture lab at Wadala.

Through which tissue cultured banana plantlets are available at very low rate to the farmers. Along with Banana we have Sugarcane, Teakwood, Bamboo and Ornamental Plant Production.

Effluent Treatment Plant

ETP is waste water treatment plant which is particularly designed to purify industrial/ commercial waste water for its reuse and its aim is to release safe water to environment from the harmful effect caused by the effluent. Recycling, reducing and reusing is the mantra of environment friendly campus.

We collect the waste water (Approx. 2.5 Lt/Day ) water from hostels and college building at our ETP plant, filtration is done on the basis of physical treatment . The chemical free, treated water is used for agriculture and garden purpose. The slurry from the sedimentation is used as organic fertilizer for the farms.

Solid Waste Management

The Mess Waste and Hostel Waste as well as agriculture Waste etc are generally used for bio-gas generation. At campus we have 100 m3 capacity biogas plant. The total solid waste collected in the campus is 200 Kg/day. Waste generation from tree droppings, lawn management and kitchen waste, are major solid wastes generated in the campus. However, it also includes papers and bottles which is segregated at source by providing separate dustbins for Biodegradable and Plastic waste.

The main objective of the solid waste management system in the campus is to promote the Environment Management and Conservation in the College Campus. The purpose of the current available system .

Soil & Water Conservation

Soil and water are two important natural resources and the basic needs for agricultural production. We created Stone Bunds, Contour Bunds, Stone Lines, Contour Trenches, Soak Pits, Contour Drains, Bench Terracing Grassed waterways to stop soil loss etc

We use to demonstrate the structures for their utilization as water and soil harvesting structure. The level of water in this area is increased due to mentioned activities. Through the N.S.S. activity we have made awareness program on this important issue.

Rain Water Harvesting

Rainwater harvesting is an important environment friendly approach. It is a green practice having double benefit of keeping the groundwater level undisturbed and charging the aquifer. Several ponds, three lakes and two wells are established for Rain Water Collection & storage.

The stored water is used for irrigation & drinking purpose after filtration. About 6 Crore liters water is stored in three lakes . Rooftop rain water collection and bore well recharge practice is also followed.

Bio Diversity Park

campus of Lokmangal college has great biodiversity, more than 350 different plant species and no. of microbes, many reptiles, rats, animals such as fox, deer, cats, rabbits, etc are generally observed in this campus. Different kinds of butterflies are commonly seen in the rainy season.

The Biodiversity park include a bio-diversity green house, horticultural development through central nursery and an ornamental garden, visitors galleries.

Soil Testing Mobile laboratory

We Analyze almost 1000 soil & water samples per year. Along with this analysis report ,we guide farmers for effective use of fertilizers & pesticides. We use to organize awareness camps in rural area for promotion of soil & water testing activity.

Bio Gas Plant

Lokmangal college has initiated the bio gas plant in premises with the objective of optimum utilization of resources. Initially organization tried to produce gas and it helped to produce gas energy for mess cooking every day.

Minimum 290 cubic meter gas has been produced through biogas plant which is used for cooking the food for near about 100 students.

Nakshtra Garden

The classical list of 27 nakshatras ("lunar mansion") is first found in the Vedanga Jyotisha, a text dated to the final centuries BCE. It is said that every human being born on earth belongs to one of these 27 Nakashtra and 27 adorable trees associated on it.

Weather Station

Weather station was established in the year of 2004 year by Lokmangal College of Agriculture. Weather station helps in accurate collection of data and improve weather forecasting services. Data from these weather stations are used in class lab projects and group projects by students and faculty for research purpose.

Information from weather station is also used for research to improve/optimize corp irrigation patterns, pest control models ultimately improving the quality of the crop. The weather station helps to take the precautionary measures against the destructive rains, winds, severe high or low temperature, diseases and pests etc.

Horticultural Plantation

Learning by doing should be the learning methodology. To follow this we have planted several horticultural saplings on 80 acres of land. We have Tamarind, Custer Apple, Sapota, Mango, Amla, Guava, Pomegranate, Jammu etc plantation in our campus.

Soil & Water Testing Laboratory

Soil Testing helps to identify the pH of soil, electrical conductivity of soil, organic carbon (%), available nitrogen, available potassium, available phosphorus and micronutrients content. This helps to measure the soil fertility, indicates nutrient deficiency that improve soil health, identify cost effective ways to manage agronomic as well as horticultural practices. It measures fertility of the soil and indicates deficiencies that need to be remedied.

Vermi Composting

The major responsibilities of a Lokmangal vermiculturist are to breed worms, use these worms to convert waste products such as spoiled fruits, vegetables, uneaten food, grass clippings into organic fertilizer. Through this process we make sure that the soil becomes nutrient-rich. This entire process is done by a Lokmangal vermiculturist is called as Vermicomposting.

The compost produced by using earthworms is called as Vermicompost is a water-soluble nutrient and is known to be rich in nutrients that can be used as an organic fertilizer. It can be used for farming and plantation. The compost produced by treatment of worms is a natural source for farming and it acts as the fertilizer for the soil.

Bio Fertilizer Plant

Bio-fertilizers help in fixing atmospheric nitrogen, converting soil phosphate and potash into soluble forms to make them available to plants. Continuous use of bio-fertilizers makes the soil rich in essential nutrients, which promotes good yield. Various types of Biofertilizer are produced in our bio fertilizer laboratory.

Rhizobium, Azotobactor, Azospirillum, Potash Mobilizing bacteria & Phosphate Solubilizing bacteria are produced in liquid as well as solid forms. Approximate production per month for each type of bio fertilizer is near about 3000 liter.
